Tom, I took the bull by the horns and picked up two boxes of Rit. One was navy and the other was black. I used the navy dye on the gray/slate tights I had written about. The process was simple, though a bit time-consuming. I got perfect results. Today I repeated the process, using the black dye on two white tights. One came out black, the other charcoal gray. Now I have three tights that I can put into rotation for class.
If you want a solid color, this is easy. Tie-dying, well, it was popular back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, but if you want to single-handedly revive the fashion, there must be old paperbacks or papyrus scrolls or stone tablets that have the instructions. Peace, man![/i]
