Talking about weight among ballet dancers is always difficult. I'm about 185 pounds, but it's mostly lean muscle. But I don't fit in with most male dansuers, because I have a barrel-chest.
You said you're in high school, so I figure you're still relatively young. I've been through high school, college and gradute school and post-graduate training....and still find people don't understand me and sill know what it is like to feel "awkward." Hey Dan, that's life.
You have to move on, and don't worry too much about the past. You want to dance.....so do it! People will respect you for that devotion. Put you heart into it!
I started too late to be a professional, but spent much of my time dancing at nursing homes and children's hospitals, bring joy to whoever I could.
Dance is joy....share that joy with others!
