I don't know him but I love his dance-heart.
My initial point with this thread was that we male dancers are the peacocks and should show our bodies as we dance, so that people can see how our bodies express themselves in dance. We shouldn't cover the muscles and the movements, no matter what the body might look like!
By saying male danseurs are peacocks and we should show our bodies, I didn't mean that we should have perfect bodies. I recently saw a modern ballet company where one of the male danseurs was "heavy," but believe me his technique was great. He used the body that he had to express himself through dance. Some in the audience giggled; I tried to appreciate the danseur and what he said through his dance. I got his message.
Did you ever really examine Jackie Gleason when he danced? He had a fantastic sense and center, and moved like a god! You can rip out my eye-teeth in exchange for giving me Jackie Gleason's center!!!
Being a danseur and male peacock means giving the observer the best about your body and its ability to move and express the dance rather than being "pretty!"
