I was being sarcastic about the comment on leotard over tights and guys getting slapped. The statement "May God forgive you!" was not intended to offend anyone. The two sins are radically different!
Slapping anyone till they cry is cruel! But a guy wearing a leotard over tights is not so serious!
I personally think the look of a thong leotard over tights of contrasting colors is a great way for guys to focus interest on how their butt muscles work while dancing. The unique thing about dancing, unlike any sports or gymnastics, is that the male's butt muscles need to work independently (the butt muscle of the standing leg works differently than the butt muscle of the working leg!). But in some ways this is "academic," as the purpose of dance is to portray the entire male danseur in his glory.
Dancers rarely think about how teachers see them or how choreographers believe they should look. The male in dance is used for a purpose, and the female for a different purpose. That's the essence of performance! The body speaks!
And consequently, the body costume speaks!
Rarely do dancers dance in the nude. Costumes are assigned to accentuate the concept of the dance. But maybe we should have some dance where the dancers are naked to express the raw male- and female-ness!
I'd appreciate either form!
