I don't understand something....The only place where I have ever found restrictions on what a male can wear in class is within a structured, graded school or when taking my exams.

Have you ever been to a company rehersal?  The variety of dancewear on these professional danseurs is so diverse!  I used to take classes at David Howard's in the 80's, and never did I see a guy from NYCB, ABT, or whatever take class with a "uniform."

And then there are the neighborhood schools where adult males are in so short supply that most teachers don't care what they wear.

The only time when I've been called on what I was dancing was after a class at Halloween at David Howard's.  I had worn I zebra-striped unitard.  David came up to me after class and said "Please ddon't wear that again.  I was getting vertigo!"

Wear red or whatever!  I wear what suits my needs!
