Since I don't use any of the specialized techniques you seem to find necessary to achieve thong wearing comfort, nor have I encountered other dancers who utilize these techniques, I can't advise my readers on their value.  I just pull my thong up, adjust as necessary, and wear it without benefit of powders, ointments, shaving, or whatever.

I think it's important for new dancers to adapt to the unique feel of a dance belt's thong, without over-emphasizing strange, ritualistic techniques to achieve comfort.  It is bizarre enough to get into a dance belt in a crowded changing room without powdering or greasing your rear.  Donning a dance belt still needs to be accomplished in a minimal amount of time with a minimum of fuss.
