Sorry it has taken so long to answer, but the doctor decided some research was necessary first.  Dr. D. has not experienced the pinching you speak of personally, in spite of wearing Capezio quilted belts frequently.

Generally, when pinching occurs it is almost always because fabric folds over - trapping loose skin, so an analysis of Capezio's construction was my first step.

Capezio's quilted dance belt has both a covered lateral seam where the quilting stops at the pouch bottom, and a large tight pouch-edge seam with raw zig-zag stitching that eventually becomes the thong. Unlike the Capezio model 26, which spreads support tension throughout the pouch material, in the the quilted model, this seam is the structural basis for the dance belt's support.  The triangle between the quilting's end and where the pouch ends forming into a thong is a hollow area that fold together, grabbing excess skin and rubbing it raw on the zig-zag stitching.

Some dancers compare dance belt thongs to razor wire, but this stitching might be the first evidence of real barbs!  Other than to recommend trying a different model dance belt, the doctor's advice would be to try repositioning the offending area forward and back so the stitching is located somewhere else between your legs.  A small glob of Vaseline might also help.

Good luck and please let us know if that helps.  ________________________________________________________________________
