I know that some places offer to custom dye, but they charge extra and that seems as if it may be a waste of money.I do a lot of dying of my tights. I usually wear M. Stevens brand which is a mix of nylon and lycra. I use RIT fabric dye, available in grocery stores, drugs stores, fabric stores, Target, etc. It comes in powder and liquid. The Liquid is easier to use. I have found that it's very difficult to come up with a custom color. The colors of the dye work really well, but to this day, I cannot get a nice charcoal gray. Some websites offer recipies for the custom colors but using the dye can be very messy and once you have a color, you have that color. I often start with small amounts and add other colors to attempt to get what I'm hoping for. But usually I end up with some other color and frankly have some fantastic colored tights. Teal, taupe, rust, etc. Good luck and just make sure you have extra tights if the first or second or so on don't work out right. Antworten zu diesem Beitrag: |
