 Male dancewear

I asked if they would have a problem with a male in a black leotard in church, as visually and artistically, this seemed to me to be best. I also thoughht a unitard would suggest the humiliation that the nakedness of crucifixion inflicted. They said they were expecting a dancer and what I wore would be up to me. As I rehearsed at home, my wife suggested I try another type of costume. She worries that some church goers might be offended at the sight of a male in tights in church. I have always valued her critiques, and now she has me second guessing myself. Any thoughts? Also, has anyone else ever danced in tights in church, and if so, were there any repercussions?
