Nylon/lycra can be comfortable in summer, and retain their shape better in the summer (They don't bag at the knees like all nylon). I like BalTogs. However, I also like cotton/lycra all year round. Once again BalTogs. My friends have the best luck with www.nydancewear.com, although there are discount dancewear sites. Some places make tights out of different material, like Coolmax, which can be better in the summer. But these are too pricey, and you'll need several pairs of tights for your daily work. Washing them out every night can be boring! You'll also need a couple dancebelts and T-shirts. What color do you plan to year. In a summer camp you probably have a dress code, including colors. If so, still try BalTogs, but for their cotton/lycra white T-shirts. They fit despite the sweating. If you're stuck into colors, you have to go with it. But, I prefer lighter colors because you can see the mucles working in the mirrors better. Most BalTogs are custom ordered, so allow for the delay in ordering. Are you taking Eglevsky in Saratoga, NY? My family used to live in Saratoga in August at the Gideon Putnam Hotel. The Spa at Saratoga is great, so go to their pool, and be sure to drink the Vichy water! The New York City Ballet is there in July, so if you want to see them get tickets early...they sell out quickly. Call the NYCB and ask them if you can "super" at their performances. The supers are those folks that stand around as extras in the background, supernumararies. I think they probably will have already found supers, but it doesn't hurt to ask. We used to go to the racetrack in Saratoga, and would pass the Eglevsky school on our way to the clubhouse. I would look in the windows and see the danseurs and wish I was there! Danseurs interested me more than thoroughbreds...just "slightly" more (They were my dad's passion). My dad was the only one who supported my love of ballet, and I'm sure he always drove by the Eglevsky school (slowly) for my benefit. My mother thought ballet was improper for males. Good luck!
