I am definitely straight, married with kids, a former athlete and a veritable sportsaholic. Yet, ever since I was young, I have absolutely loved the feel of wearing tights. I even took about a year of dance classes when I was in my 20's. But, admittedly, despite my athletic background, I was very clumsy and not very good so I lost interest. Now, my tights wearing is restricted to exercising, under ski clothes when I go skiing, and under my clothes when I go to cold football games.>>Here is my problem. Danskin is the only brand of men's tights sold at stores in my area. I find those tights to be coarse, stiff and not very comfortable. I have tried some women's tights and found them much softer. However, I am fairly tall (6'3") and not as thin as I used to be, and women's tights, no matter how much they stretch, simply don't fit me well.>>Can anyone recommend a brand of men's tights that are soft and comfortable? Do they come in colors other than black (like dark blue)? If so, are they available for purchase on the internet? I appreciate any information anyone has.>Hi welcome to the message board. I'm straight here too and it is amazing to hear of so many stories such as yours. I used to think that I was the only person in the world who felt this way.>Just wondering what got you into it? did you grow up with sisters or did you get the idea from seeing a ballet or tv show?>There is a great company on the web www.renaissancedancewear.com, they do all sorts of costom made tights, leotards and unitards. they can made it to whatever size or color you are looking for.>Good luck and keep us posted.I actually first got interested when I had to be an elf in a school play and had to wear a pair of green tights. Even though I was quite embarrassed, I really liked the feel of tights and, quite frankly, that feeling stayed with me and made me more curious over the years. It wasn't until I was in my late teens that I finally got the guts to secretly buy my first pair of tights. Of course,I bought women's tights under the guise that I was picking some things up at the store for my mom. I would exercise in them when I was home alone, or sometimes would just watch TV while wearing them. In my 20's, I finally got the courage to wear tights in public when I took my first dance class with my girlfriend. How about you? What is your story? By the way, thanks for the tip about Renaissance. I will check it out, although I think I may have already come across it and did not find it too helpful. As I said in my first message, I am trying to find some soft, comfortable tights, so any particular brand names which would fit the bill would be helpful (along with a website).
