I must clarify as well.  the dancers i know that are gay are dancers first and formost.  Being gay is usually like 75th down the line of personality traits and personal likes/dislikes etc. and tom said it best  what does it matter. and really what does it matter with anyone.  My friends that are dancers that are straight are no better nor worse of dancers than the gay ones.  Paul Matteson of the David Dorfman comapany is Straight and just won a bessie, david dorfmann himself is married and has a child, joe poulson from terry creach company is straight and exquisite as a dancer. David Neumann(formerly of doug elkins and doug varone companies) is a Multiple Bessie Winner, also straight(and maybe the single best dancer performing today.) And when I said in the other post that many of the straight dancers I know are "kinda straight" this is coming from a non art/dance world point of view where it seems most "straight" men aren't comfortable dancing, being physical, hugging, let alone even conversing or even thinking about gay men, where as all the straight dancers i know are fine with gay men and interact with them the same way they would with anyone they know as intimately as you would dancing/rehearsing etc. with them 3-8hrs a day for months on end.  Is this making any sense.  Due to the social stigma in this country of being male and dancing, most straight men shy away from it.  So the general number of straight dancers is generally lower it seems than those that are gay and also due to that stigma those that are dancers and straight are usually considered gay by proxy until proven otherwise.

anyway....
