Male dancewear
geschrieben von zugara at am 20.12. um 13:17:20 Guys, a few weeks ago, I sought your assistance with respect to my search for some soft, comfortable men's tights. To refresh your recollection, while I no longer take ballet classes (I took classes many years ago), I still absolutely love the feel of tights. Now, my tights wearing is restricted to home exercising, jogging and wearing under my clothes for cold weather activities like skiing. I am about 6'3" and weigh around 225-230. Thus, the tights needed to be big enough to fit me. As I said, my main interests in my search were comfort and a soft feel. You guys were so great in offering me some suggestions as to what kind of tights I should buy and where to buy them, that I thought I would share with you the results of my search so far. 1. A ballet mom on another board gave very high recommendations to a Russian company named dancechoice.com which principally sells Grishko dance products. The mom was influenced by the quality of dancechoice's products and the personal service given by the employees. Ballet mom was asolutely correct on both points. I contacted dancechoice by e-mail and received constant attention by my salesclerk. Apparently, Grishko's mens tights come in three different fabbrics--cotton, velour and polyamide. I told the clerk of my interest in a soft feel and comfort and deferred to her recommendation. She also asked for my waist and pant inseam sizes so she could fit me accordingly. Based on her recommendation, I wound up purchasing a pair of black, footless cotton tights. I chose footless just to make sure they were long enough to fit me. For simplicity sake, I chose black even though there were about 6 or so colors to choose from. My tights arrived yesterday. Guys, they are absolutely wonderful. They are absolutely the most comfortable tights I have ever worn. They are so comfortable that I did not want to take them off to go to bed. They also fit very well as my sales person did a great job effectively customizing my tights. The tights come in many different sizes at dancechoice and it appears that the sales people will work with you to make sure you are picking the right size. The only negatives to dancechoice were that the tights were a little pricey ($30, which included shipping charges), and that it took several weeks for my order to be processed and delivered to me. Take my word for it though, it was worth the wait. 2. Someone on this board recommended that I check out comfilon.com, which is a company that specializes in making men's pantyhose and other hosiery products. Comfilon sells an opaque product that they say are tights. This product comes in about 4 colors and in at least 4 different sizes. The comfilon opaque tights are fairly inexpensive (about $11 a pair). They have a size chart that I found very useful. I wound up purchasing two pair (one navy and one black) from comfilon. The service was great, as the tights were delivered within about 4 days from the date of the order. I ordered extra large and they adequately fit my frame without any problems whatsoever. Like dancechoice, these tights are very soft and extremely comfortable. You literally will not want to take them off. There are two negatives about the comfilon tights. First, they have a pouch in front. While this is great if you have to go to the bathroom (especially if you are wearing the tights under other clothes), it effectively requires you to wear a pair of shorts over them if, for instance, you want to wear them outside for activitis like an exercise class or jogging. Second, while the opaques are called tights, they really are just a heavier brand of pantyhose. In other words, they have a pantyhose shearer look to them when on your legs, meaning that the less secure of us may not want to wear them in public and may just want to wear them at home to exercise in or do whatever else. These "tights" may also be more subject to runs than normal tights. Nevertheless, they do have an absolutely wonderful feel to them, are quite comfortable and are very affordable. I like them and wear them a lot around the house. Since I would likely buy them again, I have no hesitancy in recommending them to you. 3. A couple people on this board recommended mstevens tights for comfort. I found a couple of internet sites where they are sold. I have not tried them yet because I am not sure that their largest size will fit me. I e-mailed one of the companies which sells these tights and gave them my dimensions. Unfortunately, the sales rep could not really answer my question as to whether they would fit. If anyone else around my size has found that mstevens tights will be large enough to fit me, I would be interested in hearing from you. Mstevens has a miliskin fabric that is supposedly very soft and comfortable, so I might be interested in trying them, although I cannot imagine that they are more comfortable than the Grishko sold by dancechoice. By the way, for those of you interested in different color choices, it appears that mstevens tights only come in black and white. 4. Someone on this board also directed me to the renaissance site. White the site was very interesting, I could not figure out what kinds of male tights products that were sold via the site. Perhaps, it was just my relatively poor computer skills which caused my search to be fruitless. Consequently, I cannot comment one way or another on these tights. 5. Finally, someone recommended capezio tights. I went to the capezio site and was unimpressed. From the pictures, their tights seemed to be very stiff. I also did not think that their largest size tights would have been big enough to fit me comfortably. Thanks to all of you for all of your help. As I continue my search, I will be interested in hearing more insights and recommendations from all of you. I find it very fascinating that all of us tights lovers are so willing to help each other. Until next time. Antworten zu diesem Beitrag:
