>Hello!>I just started in a college theatre course and the professor told the guys to buy black tights and a dance belt for class work next month.  I went on a website and they have different types of dancebelts. The Capezio has two style numbers there, one for a quilted pouch and one that they say is just cotton and lycra.>Does anyone know what the difference is?>David

David:

You came to the right place to ask your question.

Both Capezio dance belts are similar in design (waistband, pouch front, thong rear), except the cotton/lycra model #26 has a single layer of a cotton/lycra blend in front, while the quilted #5930 adds a bit of extra padding.  The extra padding is not designed to make for a bigger bulge in your tights, but to round out the anatomical details, giving a rounded Ken-Doll effect.  It also offers slightly more protection in case you are one the receiving end of a ballerina's knee while partnering (a feature you probably won't be needing in your class). The quilted one has a more supportive wide raw elastic waistband, the plain one has a narrower - and more comfortable - fabric covered elastic band.  I wear the cotton/lycra model for daily ballet class, and the quilted model for pas de deux (partnering)and performances.

For a theatre class, either will do the trick for you.

If you haven't worn a dance belt before, you might find it uncomfortable at first.  However, you'll eventually get used to the strange feeling of the thong and appreciate the strong support your dance belt gives.

Even though dance belts are pretty simple garments, you might appreciate a couple tips on wearing them:-You should be aware that it's both more comfortable and better looking to point your penis towards your belly button.-Reach into the pouch, grab a hand full of scrotum and pull your testicles up too.-Make sure no scrotal tissue gets caught under the edge of the pouch.

Hope this helps.  Feel free to ask if I haven't answered your question.
