Hi H20buddha!

I hope I can help.

I personally prefer Danskin cotton/lycra leggings and unitards in grey, but they are near impossible to find nowadays.  They used to sell the leggings (basically footless tights) in the Women's section of sporting goods stores, and have discontinued the unitards.

I have lots of M. Stevens stuff, and find it acceptable.  Many guys prefer their tights, but for cotton/lycra tights and other dancewear (like tops) I prefer Bal-Togs.

The dancebelt is another problem.  I've tried them all (trust me on that), and for the last five years have been wearing the Capezio "comfort style" dancebelt, where the thongstrap is about an inch and a half rather than the quarter-inch of the Capezio 26.  The Capezio with the quilted front has a thich, stiff waistband, which is great if you don't have an ounce of fat around the middle; otherwise the fat creeps out over the waistband and looks funny.

I would not dance with a full-seated dancebelt; it makes the butt look funny.  When you dance the teacher needs to see all the muscles of the leg (as do you, in the mirror).  The butt muscles are not always both clenched tight or both relaxed.  Sometimes one (like the standing leg) needs to be held tight while the butt muscles of the working leg need to flex and relax.

There's something called the NoUniButt look. This is where the tights sit close into the buttcrack, allowing the butt muscles to be seen separately.  You need a thong dancebelt for this.  If you're interested, send me an email and I'll send you the document.

Also, the lighter colors allow the muscles to be seen better.  I always wear a light color, preferring a grey.  The dark colors absorb light.  A tan dancebelt is the most flexible.  Black or white shows through.

Good Luck!

>I know that alot of guys feel that m Stevens are the best tights, but prefer Capezio dancebelts because of the better support, do you agree with this?  Also when choosing a dancebelt, which is the preferred option, full back or thong back?  As for the color of tights, should I stick to basic black, or can I incorporate some color?  The same goes for dancebelt, should I stick with black or tan?
