Male dancewear

I saw your observation: >I read on another ballet site that the reason females wear pink tights is because pink helps a ballet teacher see faults more easier. If this is indeed the case should men not wear pink tights instead of black tights? If you study in many of the different ballet syllibi, you'll notice that the men progress from black tights to navy to royal blue to grey, and sometimes white. And the standard for performance, particularly the premier danseur, is usually white. Lighter colors allow the body and its muscles to be seen in more detail. When you go to company classes, you'll see that most guys are wearing lighter colors. It's essential for the ballet master to see how the body is working. The darkest color I'll wear to class is royal blue! I usually wear a light grey, even when I'm taking "beginner" classes (I can't always get to an intermediate class with my work schedule). For me, it's important to see how my body functions in the mirror, because in many adult classes the teacher is less interested. If only for yourself, to see yourself better in the mirror, wear light colors! But stay away from pink! Even if everyone knows your taking class with your lady-wife of 25 years and your teenage sons and daughters, pink tights on a guy will still raise eyebrows! balletboy Antworten zu diesem Beitrag:
