However, there are different thong styles. On some the butt-strap is narrow, less than half an inch; on some the butt-strap can be relatively wide, like an inch or so.
Capezio has a new model out called the "comfort" or something like that. It has a wider butt-strap (about 1 inch), but the material's softer and the elastic waist band, covered with the dancebelt material, is about an inch and a half wide. For some reason, I've gotten to like this style. I used to like dancebelts with a 6 inch wide waist elastic, and strong, inflexible material for the butt-strap, but after wearing this new Capezio, I found I liked it much better. It has a long product number, like 5 digits, where the traditional Capezio dancebelt product number is just 2 digits.
You didn't mention which brand you bought. It sounds like Star-styled. I think they're the only brand with a full-seat left on the market.
Actually, the older dancebelts with fuller-seats were usually made so that the seat would slip-up into the butt-crack, so the seat never gave full coverage. The old Danskin 1100 was like this. It was the one that, despite the picture that was included, most guys wore backwards, 'cause the front would have better coverage for the seat than the back gave.
One thing you may have noticed in some of my old postings is that I'm a big advocate of wearing the tights so that they are frimly seated in the butt-crack, leaving each buttock fully exposed. This, in my humble opinion, allows for better display of the muscles and seems to give me better control and movement. This gives me "full-exposure."
You ask about feeling "exposed." I think ideally we should dance in a thong dancebelt, and leave the body exposed as much as possible. The teacher could get a better look at the muscle function all around.
I would say don't worry about feeling exposed! Everybody knows what's there!

> I had posted a couple weeks ago reguarding dance belts. I decided to order two different styles. One I guess is more traditional with a wide band in the back whereas the other one has a narrow band. After trying both on I was surprised to find I like the narrower band better. I just feel like I have more freedom in the back although the thong style felt "different" at first. I'm thinking of wearing the thong style one to class even though I would be more exposed as oppose to the wider one. I was just wondering if anyone else had a preference as to the design of a belt that they wear?[/i]
