I'd just like to add that regardless of how the bulge may look, we are male humans and should be proud of our bodies. Everyone knows what's down there. Dancewear is designed to be functional, so our teachers can see our muscles at work. This includes the functions of the hips and inner thighs in achieving turn out. If this functional dancewear means that our "personals" are also on display, sobeit!
Male dancers work hard to deveop our bodies for our art! We should be proud to display them and the way they work.
Keep dancing! balletboy
>I appreciate this site very much.. It's so informative. Where else would I get answers to all my ballet questions? I particluarly thank you, BalletMaster, for your detailed response. As an adult beginner, I do have a desire to give the illusion I am not a complete nincompoop, but more importantly, I want to do things properly to safeguard my well-being.>At first I wore my dancebelt as I do a jockstrap, with my privates safely tucked between my legs. Obvious to those with more experience than I have, that does not work for dance. Dance is not a contact sport, and to place the privates between the legs is to ask for problems. It was on this site that I learned they belong up and out. >The first time I dressed that way I felt more comfortable physically, but the studio mirror revealed that all aspects of my "personalty" were plainly on display. I have no problem bulging where God made me bulge. I just did not want to reveal so much that my little buddy could be identified in a line-up. Thanks to your suggestion, I am now in the process of lining my dance belt. I know I will feel more comfortable in more ways than one when I am in class next. Your response to my question is much appreciated.[/i]
