I did take point for three months and at the end I decided it wasn't for me and that that it did hurt. But I've done lots of things that hurt and have not been for me, but actually loved doing it.
Like I said, I'm ready to do the four swans-arms-linked-passes-and-all things at parties. And I laugh with everyone on how absurd it may seem. I praise the guys in the play and movie Love, Compassion and Valor (or whatever) when they practice this combination in the attic for their AIDS fund-raiser, and would do the same thing, with pride. Sure I'd put those pointe shoes on again.
I love ballet, and that means pointe work too. Sure it hurt and I didn't think it was for me, but it really was a great experience. Everything I've done in dance was a great experience. Thank you "other" kyle for reminding me! (Hey other kyle, you haven't emailed in some time. What gives?)
So NU2, go for it if you have the chance. And I still think that you ought to try everything else, like different male ballet technique, too!
