>Hi Pauly!>Strange story?!?!>My mother kept me from ballet as a profession. My dad supported the idea. Could I tell you stories? I could tell you stories!!!!>In my experience, the idea of a gay son is difficult for most parents. You have to put yourself in their shoes, and understand what they're feeling and what their expectations are. Maybe a dad wants to see his "name" continued; maybe a mom wants to see grandchildren. Maybe both parents have built their "fortunes" so that they'll continue, especially a family business. I've known many guys, gay and straight, who just don't want to be in a family business or want another career of whatever. Their parents may not like that idea. Hell, I'm in the family "business!" But I'm at a place where my work comes second to my ballet. Go figure!>Ballet as a career is very difficult. Worse than professional sports (a dansuer rarely gets the high salaries, and doesn't get disability when the "sport" destroys his body!)! If I had a son, I'd want him to be a ballet danseur, but would make financial provisions for him.>Male ballet means gay! I don't want to get into that discussion!>No offense intended, but how old are you? Why can't you get into ballet? Are you so young that you can't get into classes because you need a parental permission slip?>If you want to take ballet, tell your parents! Many guys wait to take ballet once they're away from home, mom and dad. In my humble opinion, it's best to start as early as you can. The joys of ballet outweight taunts of "gay-boy," even if they come from your parents!>balletboy>PS: You said you love wearing tights. Maybe something else is going on here. You said your mom asked you if you were taking ballet. Why did she ask you that? Did she find your tights? Did you put runs in her tights and put them back? Maybe she'd be happier, if she found your tights, if you were taking ballet. If you want to talk, you can email me at theboy@balletboy.com. However, if your message is not serious, don't bother.>>>Howdy All>>Ive been interested in Ballet for many many years now and love wearing tights.>>I havent started ballet yet but hopefully will soon.>>I was talking to my Father and mother the other day and they are looking at buying a business and i asked why the owner was selling, my mother said it was becuase there son is a gay fairy, i said what.?
