There's something you have to be aware of....the human body is the human body, and sometimes the muscles, tendons, etc. are pretty much fixed, so any stretching has to be done very, very carefully!
You're not in a dance class yet, so how much flexibility do you need? Give us an idea of your age, too. What kind of dance are you interested in? For example, in ballet, there's an emphasis on turn-out. But turn-out has to come from the hips. Many people try to turn-out the feet, stressing the knees.
Splits are nice, but not all guys can achieve the 180 degrees that would be ideal. But I've got to tell you the truth....I've know lots of guys in dance and very few can get a 180 degree split. It's possible to work for the splits, but that work has to be very carefull!
