[i]You may need to buy a dancebelt one size larger than the one you are wearing. Buy the thong style Capezio brand that has a quilted pouch but also check Star Styled as they have some good styles.
You need to be in the "up" position, and not meaning to be graphic on here, but everything needs to be lifted up so that nothing dangles between the legs. The pouch is not designed for you to wear in the down but always in the up position, and that means straight up or straight and to the side a little. The pouch should restrain you so the bulge is not as noticeable, and yes, after awhile you should get used to it. Some guys love it, others hate it, but to get used to it you need to wear a dancebelt at home under your tights and after awhile it will seem natural with it on. If you go to a gym, get some male athletic short or long tights or a unitard (wear tight fitting lycra tights) and a dancebelt on underneath. Lots of guys wear dancebelts under their tights for working out and it's a lot better than a jockstrap which does not restrain or offer the support a dancebelt can. The bottom line to all of this is three things: (1) You look a lot better in tights with a dancebelt (in the up position) vs. a jockstrap or regular thong, (2) you are less likely to injure yourself when other dancers might accidently kick you between your legs (that is why it is mandatory at some places that you wear it in the up position), and (3) you will be less self conscious with a dancebelt in the up position. And this is not usually mentioned but obviously there can be an erection factor, and a good tight fitting dancebelt pouch will go in "overdrive" and restrain you. That's why most dancebelt pouches are usually made out of a fabric called poplin which will not stretch, and believe me, when you are dancing and have close physical contact with a female dancer, nature can creep in but the dancebelt's pouch will help prevent you from showing your nature to the dancer(s) and the public. Good advice, wear a quilted dancebelt made by Capezio which helps absorb when needed.
Sorry for being graphic but sometimes things need to be made clear.
