Paul, your height is above average for ballet, but there are dancers performing today who are as tall or taller. Charles Askegaard, with New York City Ballet, is 6'5". Alonzo King's LINES Ballet tends to hire men and women who are taller than the ballet standard.
I hope that more American companies relax their height restrictions. There are a lot of exceptionally talented men and women whose options are limited, only on account of their height and standards that were set in bygone days when everyone was shorter than today.
