thus, I am not sure whether this is due to being the only maleor due to the approach and methodology of our teacherbut so far (third year of training: advanced intermediary level) there has been NO difference in my training compared to the ladies
our teacher did announce that soon I am to start doing lifts and supports to ladiesbut I very much expect that this will become part of the training for ladies as well (there are ladies in my group who are taller than myself being 5"11' :))because in the same manner I have been put into pointe classes without even being asked if I would like to
and, I must say, I like it both the pointe lesons and the fact that there is no difference in our education and training
besides, part of our training are ballroom dances and preparation to become instructorsin this proces we learn both ladie's and gentleman's stepsand I have quickly realised how beneficial it is to know the partner's stepsand feel what my partner experiences during the dance
it is not always easy, creates confusion and requires high concentration
not to mention outside effects like buying pointe shoes for a man :)
however, in my age (40+) it is all just amusing and exciting and fulfilling
the most of intimidation is on the low or very marginal level
everything else is pure joy and fun
enjoy![/i]
