You sound like you probably don't like the redundancy of some ballroom. So try a Latin ballroom class! You will (hopefully) love the "circular" movement. Contrary to what you believe, there is freedom in ballroom as in any form of dance; if there was no freedom, i doubt it would be an art form.Sounds good - I don't know much about ballroom, only that I'm unable to stand still when I hear a waltz; so I reckoned I ought to look in to it.You may be thinking that "you can only place this there" and "that leg has to go there without exception". Yes - and the "degrees of freedom" of physical movement, too.So, I highly recommend trying it out. Go for two classes at least. They tend to move slower for an apt dancer considering there might be "non-dancers" present also. ("Non-dancers" are willing to try ballroom before forms like ballet, for semi-understandable reasons.)Oh, I think I can be classified as an honorary "non-dancer", I'm rubbish at ballet & I've got "two left feet" - so I doubt I'll find the classes too slow. But do try it. I loved my Latin classes. Well, good luck! Thanks! I'll see what classes I can find round here (& I'll have to work out how to fit them in, but I'm sure I'll think of something....) A.
