Next barre - think not of the working leg but of the standing leg and torso - you want tall, strong, united (not wobbly) body.  Pull the abdomen in.  

Here's another one - stand on flat in fifth (perfect fifth please) facing the wall.  Make yourself tall and strong.  Stare at the spot in front of you.  Now, make yourself grow 1/2 inch. Make the growth come from a longer spine, push up further with the knees.  Feel the bottom of the rib cage get higher.
