First of all Danceart.com is very lightly moderated. They are less moderated than other boards, who require subscription.  At Danceart you have to pay ONLY to be a full member with a cute little stay by your name, but this is not required and otherwise there are no restrictions whether you post as a "guest" or your own pseudonym. Hey, some people post as multiple people  and get away with it until they get in trouble for their stupidity.  They have done away with the waiting period, simply sign on under the "apprentice" section and post as you wish.  The mod. only steps in for severe problems and I've even seen porfanity slip through, such as "B*tch" so their system isn't very good. They are VERY HOMOPHOBIC, do not go there if you are openly gay or expect to be condemned.  If you are going to post there anything controversial (political, religious, etc) or questionable, expect to be flamed and humiliated. Members are no-nonsense as evidenced by the recent Dancingdoc thread (they were BRUTAL but it was appropriate in that case).  You'll be banned if you're abusive, talk about eating disorders or a place like Criticaldance (the mere mention of the word will cause your post to be rejected) but otherwise you will find no real monitoring of your messages and a lot time is wasted there on flames and personal conflicts (did you think this board is bad? It's nuthin!) That is really a problem-the Admin. leaves the moderation to "peer pressure". That is, he does not moderate until there is a very serious problem underfoot. He lets the members attack and humiliate like the K9 unit to the criminal. It's pretty horrible really but effective. Enter there at your own risk then.

Balletalert DOES NOT charge to subscribe. They require you register in order to post though, but this is only a simple form and you need a valid email address. They are a highly moderated forum.

There are other boards I am less familiar with but my visits have shown they are SLOW and BORING.  Good luck.
