Dear grateful:

I believe that I have had this same issue somewhat as well, and had the tendency to contract the shoulders in and tense up when turning. The key, it seems, is remaining relaxed while holding the torso in place. Perhaps also "stepping back" and instead of executing doubles or triples, just do single, slow, relaxed turns with very little force [that seems to be another "male dancer" issue - using too much force when it isn't necessary].

Hopefully - this will help. Another is perhaps doing "robots" in the mirror [as my RAD instructor likes to call them] - both for spotting and upper body placement.

Good luck.

Sangode
