The bottom line about the differences between the syllabi....the work you do to get the best look for performing, and what the best look is for the performance.

What is the best look onstage during performance?  Should the audience care if the foot or knee is higher in the arabesque?  I hope not!

Learn all the syllabi!  But take what what is best for your body in the performance.  Some critics want this or that, but it is the ballet-heart that the danseur portrays that moves the audience.  I'd rather be moved by the danseur than see him hit perfect poses for the syllabus chosen.
