For comfort under tights and unitards, I would assume most male dancers do do a lot of shaving and waxing of the legs and chest.  Personally, I only make great efforts during the summer to stay hairless since I also cycle professionally.  Maintaining a hairless body when you're cursed with gorilla genes like me gets tiring (and potentially expensive if you're into professional hair removal), so in the winter months I usually "let it all go" and put up with the itchiness during class.  Nothing beats the comfort of having no hair underneath ballet clothes, though.
