Ballet tights are functional! It's not a matter of exposing, but being able to show your body on-stage and what it can do, just like those athletes who finally realized they could move and use their bodies in the "near-naked" look that ballet danseurs have appreciated for years. I don't know a male danseur who thinks his tights (or any costume) is exposing himself rather than just a way to express the feelings of the dance! Hey, we're in America. And puritanical ideals still exist. Why should people who live by ideals of freedom and liberty for all want to impose out-dated ideals on others? People like this are more enslaved by their minds!
