You have to remember that stge make-up is to be more dramatic than everyday make-up. So certain colors read well on stage ie. red lips, false eye lashes, rosey cheecks.

Guys are different. You want to look as natural and non pastey as possible. Mascara with a foundation and a little powder is good to start. You want to darken your facial hair(eyebrows, beard, mustache). The best website to find make-up tricks is maccosmetics.com.

You might want to take all the dancers to the local MAC counter (in Macy's) and have the sales people do your makeup if you have the time.

Dance Spirit Magazine also has make up looks in every issue.  Good Luck
