In ballet, form follows fit!

Hi again JP!

When in ballet, it's necessary to have close fitting bodywear to allow the body to perform in the most natural state as is socially acceptable.  That means tights and close-fitting T-shirt.

But wait a minute...don't guy gymnasts wear leotards and very close fitting pants?  Most gymnasts I see are either wearing leotards or tight lycra tops, and the gymnastic pants are just a tad bit looser than tights.

And on top of it, isn't gymnastics the way to show off the body at the extremes of its performance ability, just like ballet?

Now you're going to start the cynics on this site start mumbling that you might not be a serious gymnast, not to recognize the similaritis between gymnastics and dance.  Some, not me, might say you might be putting us on.

The truth is that if your gymnastics instructor has suggested ballet, it's to improve your ability.  And in ballet, you need to be dressed properly.  Trust me, after the first two minutes of working in tights, dancebelt and t-shirt, the standard for starting ballet, you won't notice the dancewear.
