Hi. I would like to say a few things about gymnastics and dance. First, I am a former collegiate and elite gymnast. I have been involved in gymnastics for 20 years now. As I am now too old to compete in gymnastics, I tried taking an adult ballet class and it was way more fun than i thought. One thing I really miss about training gymnastics in working on techniques and practicing and refining them.In ballet, I was able to learn a lot of technique and I was surprised at how complex it really is. I would recommend ballet for any male gymnast. It may add more to you ability to compete in gymnastics than you might realize at first. My only regret is not starting ballet at the same time I started gymnastics. The former Soviet Union men's gymnastics team were one of the most dominant sports dynasties ever. All of their athletes had ballet training from an early age. It was not only their impressive difficulty and strength that made the Soviets so good but their flawless execution and artistry. I think their ballet training was a big part of their successful strategy. Anyway, I hope you will enjoy ballet and you will definitely benefit as a gymnast. Don't worry about the tights. Tights are really comfortable and fun to wear, so enjoy.
