the male dancer
written by Todd at on 17.08. at 15:51:43 Hi. I'm hearing a lot about the benefits of ballet regarding increased flexibility. But I'm wondering if this is only correct for those who take classes as a form of exercise. I understand that profesional dancers who have made ballet a career are almost crippled with arthritis before middle age. Would I therefore be correct in assuming that ballet can have physical benefits but only in the short term as the rigours of training will, in fact have the opposite effect in years to come. Is this to be taken for granted as a consequence of a life in dance or can it be attributed to poor training? Answers to this message:
