Of course there's competition in ballet.  But it's good, because it helps dancers, male and female, work to be the best.

When I was in high school and taking my first classes, although I loved everyone at the studio, I always strove to outdo my classmates.  Even though I knew I could never be as good as this guy, Romney, I always tried to outdo him.  And I think that made both of us better dancers.

The competition in dance classes is good.  And trust me...no matter what they say about male dancers, even if they are gay, many of them still strive to impress the girls in class with their ability.
