the male dancer
written by balletboy on 06.12. at 22:55:22 - as answer to: A Question for Male Dancers by Ballet fan/tights fan at Hi guy! I agree with what Tom said, and would like to add the following... We all portray an image in public, be it on the web or just walking around. And then I, as I assume others, look at other people and incorporate the image, as they like. That's human nature. I hope people see me as an expert in my field of knowledge. I am past the point where I think people see me as a graceful dancer, and I think people see me as an adult male dancer striving to maintain touch with an art I love. I would like people to think of me as a graceful dancer. But, would I be offended if they thought of me as a romantic or erotic symbol? Why should I judge? Whether you have posted pictures as a dancer, or are just walking down the street, people see you as an other human being. What does it matter if someone, male or female, sees you as erotic? What does it matter if they see you on the web or on the street and incorporate you or a part of you into an erotic fantasy? Do you do the same? What makes up your erotic fantasies? Look! We are all human. balletboy Answers to this message: |
