This is important for dives to think that way when they leave the board. It is the same as when a dancer leaves the floor in a jump. They don't think about the individual parts of their body.As a dive coach I have found that while we concentrate on the individual muscles for strength, the ballet lessons teaches the divers to combine all the parts as one making the body one fluid item and thus a better dive. So yes--the better divers take some sort of ballet training if they want to be good. Answers to this message: |
