the male dancer
written by Snarky at on 27.11. at 08:00:17 - as answer to: Which class? by Xander >I decided to major in musical theatre and was wondering what dance classes I should take or start off with. In high school I did some tap and ballet. I'm 19 now and I pick up on things very quick. Which dance class would help me most in musical theatre: ballet, jazz, or modern? And can someone elaborate on modern dance? Please email me a response or I'll just check it here later. Thank you.>-Xander (jinx2423@yahoo.com) In this order: jazz, ballet, modern. Modern is a distant third. Jazz is the movement language of musical theater. But don't just take my word for it. Try asking your questions at any of the following sites: www.danceart.com, www.balletalert.com, www.criticaldance.com. The dancers and former dancers who run these sites and post to them will be more than happy to assist you. There's also a magazine, Dance Spirit, that you could check out. It probably has a website, too. -S- Answers to this message:
