As a boy, I loved wearing pink ballet shoes (still do), rather than black or white ones, but I don't mind white shoes with black tights or black ones with white or pink tights!Anyway, with my satin or leather shoes, your ribbons, nylon or satin ones, you keep your foot flat on the floor and take the inside ribbon around the back of your ankle, then wrap it around the front of the ankle and then back again. Flex your ankle to make sure the ribbon is not too tight, then hold the other ribbon and pass this over the first one and around your ankle and try not to let the first ribbon slip, bring the ends of the two ribbons to the inside of your ankle and tie them in a neat knot, the ends should be 2 inches long, then trim the ribbons to size after you have tied them and then tuck the ends in neatly. You might want to use Bunheads Flexers as they have a streach of elastics built in onto the ribbons to help to alleviate the pressure on the archille's tendon. Happy dancing!
