Of all people, dancers should be the least homophobic, since as a class we suffer from the presumption by society, especially in the United States, that all men who dance must be gay. Think how many boys might make superlative dancers, yet avoid ballet, because of this prejudice! And I would be surprised if any of you who took dance in your teens or earlier - including Appollon - were not subjected to homophobic teasing or baiting by your classmates and neighbors, simply because of your interest in ballet.
