A while ago I got very interested in Irish Step dancing. I wanted desperately to take it - but in the end I didn't because I was afraid it would ruin my demi-plie (the most important element of ballet). It appeared to me that Irish Step dancers bounce off the ball of their feet instead of the full foot like ballet dancers do. I love that kind of bouncy jumping but it seems to over develop the calfs. Do you agree with this - or is my perception of Irish Step dancing in error? Answers to this message:
