The problem I had was not taking ballet lessons, it was the atmospher that surrounded it locally.  First off I did not want to take classes under my sister, there was a great deal of animosity between the two of us over an incident with her boyfriend. After being overly obnoxious when he came to pick up Sally, two of Mr Football's tires developed slow leaks that left the two of them stranded at the local lovers lane rather then studying at the library.

Second ther was a group of guys in our school that were making life miserable for the two boys in school who were taking dance. They ambushed the younger of the two boys after classes while he was riding his bike home, they took his jeans and made him ride around town with them in just his black tights and white leotard.  The attitude of principal and other teachers was "Boys will be boys!"  Today it wouldn't be tolerated but it was then.

Third, Sally had gotten a job at a summer live in dance camp and there was no way I wanted to spend two and half months with her at a dance camp during the summer.
