If you are uncertain, however, you can always get by withtights and a T-shirt. And 16 is a perfectly good age to start. Iwas twice as old as that when I started. But I must warn you (a) a ballet class is no place to indulge afetish. (Nothing wrong with a fetish; it's just that that's justnot the place for it.) (b) You'll be working so d@mned hard youwon't have leisure to think about what you're wearing. Ballet is*work.* It's also terrific fun, but only if you're prepared to workyour butt off. (c) You're likely to get hooked. And once balletgets in your blood, it never gets out again. Tom Parsons
