When you are at your house just sit in a strech and work on your splits watching TV. Go as far as you can. Stay in your splits for about 2 minutes each and the take some pillows and sit on them in the splits and then when you think you can go farther take 1 away and the another and so on. I know one girl that has a hard time with her splits and she has like her muscles in her leg are really tight and they don't stretch that much. Juat stretch alot at home.
