>I was wondering if anyone ever wears their slippers outside (meaning outdoors)of class.  I had heard of (and seen) some others doing this, and had found it odd.  I mean, there's not a lot of support there after all.  Anyway, I have an old canvas pair that I wear around (inside) the house and yesterday I had them on when I went outside to my car to get something.  Walking across the parking lot was tough -- felt every stone.  Don't think it's anything I'll be doing on a regular basis but it got me to wondering if others do it from time to time.  Thanks!

I wear black ballets everyday at work and outside in nice weather.  I buy myshoes sewn by Just Plain Flats. He sews in black calfskin and I've had them made a variety of ways both pleated ballets and full sole flats made likeballet shoes.  He sews pleated teachers pumps in black calfskin with elk leather insoles and they have thick leather heel pieces sewn between thevamp and the sole.  I prefer the pleated pumps because they are really softand they easily form a very full arch.  He will discuss the shoes with youvia e-mail and we agree on all of the particulars and a price before he sews.I usually buy my shoes a few pair at a time and he always gives me a nicediscount, almost 30% less than buying them a pair at a time.  Also, I do likehis full sole flats.  They're sewn in black calfskin, have these really softelk leather insoles, leather heels, and saddle leather full soles.  He mailsthem out folded in a carton and they also form a really nice arch and wear a long time as street shoes.  I LOVE the pleated pumps the most even though Ihave to request to have them sewn.  If he's not busy, I usually get my shoesin a few dasy but he always lets me know if he gets busy when he'll get myshoes sewn and sent out.  He has a web page and his e-mail is jpflats@juno.comRalphine
