Once I was in a dancewear store and bought a long-sleeved leotard; I asked the salesgirl why don't men wear long sleeves, and she said she knows a man who shops there who does wear long sleeves. Have you ever noticed in gymnastics, the men have their legs covered and their arms bare, while the women have their arms covered and their legs bare? When I go to the gymnastics newsgroup and ask WHY, they just get annoyed with me and say "that's the way it is!" To me, the leotard has to have long sleeves to really look like a "leotard." I mean, the sleeveless ones, you can't tell them apart from a maillot bathing suit. The real "leotard" look has the fascinating contrast of fully exposed legs and fully covered arms.
