Men have started when they were as old as 15.  For that matter,Igor Youskevitch started when he was in his early twenties.  Butyou have to bear in mind that the odds are against you--everymale dancer isn't a Youskevitch.  Furthermore, if you don't makeit to the top (or near the top) you will live a life of genteelpoverty.  I'm sorry if I'm raining on your parade, but you have tobe realistic.  You need a terrific talent to start now and make itas a professional.  If I were you, I'd get the opinions of asmany people as possible.  As soon as it makes sense to do so,audition *everywhere,* even if you aren't actively looking for ajob, just to get as many people's opinions as you can.  And inthe mean time, prepare a fall-back position in case things don'twork out.  You don't have to be defeatist, but it's important tohave a realistic assessment of your chances.

Tom
