Womens tights are way more sheer than mens, womens leotards are not built for what men have between the legs, and they are full bottom. the majority Men's leotards are thong back. This is for a reason. Men's tights are worn over the leotard, and full bottom leotards make it seem like we have a single bum muscle (instead of two), and it does show lines where the leo ends. This also provides more support for us...>I'd reccommend you find men's dancewear. As you said, you don't want to risk looking gay or like a man who wants to be a female. Wearing womens dancewear may be acceptable in some studios, but with serious professional studios it's an insult.

Having tried on and wore both genders dancewear, I have yet to figure out thereal difference between most of the two. Sure, there is some dancewear that isobviously made for women, and some for men. But, most of it is mostly unisex andunless you read the label, you don't know the difference. I don't wear tightsper se,  but rather either running tights or leggings, and I have more than onemale professional dancer in those. However, it is up to you, and your comfortlevel. If you feel you need to wear mens dancewear because it is for men, thatsfine. I was just trying to give you alternatives, and still keep your perceptionof your own manhood intact. Good luck. :)
