 Male dancewear

Has anyone noticed that it doesnt matter anymore whether or not a male dancer has good techniques. All that matters now is if he can do a triple tour-pointed feet or not. Wacthing male dancers who dont take the time to point their feet or put effort into their port de pras is utterly disgusting. Being in a pre-professional company you cant expect prima ballerinas. Yet when the director hires in guest artists who can do a flip in "Giselle" for instance and are excitied I cant help but be confused. Have we as a dance community lowered our standards?
